Award Requirements

Course pre-requisites	Completion of an AQF level 7 bachelor degree in nursing or equivalent qualification and; Registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or equivalent registration with the relevant registering authority for applicants outside Australia.
Minimum English language proficiency requirements	Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 3a – Schedule II of the ʯ��Ƶ Admissions Policy.
Additional selection requirements	It is recommended that applicants have completed a minimum of one year of full-time clinical experience (or part-time equivalent) as a registered nurse.

Course learning outcomes	On successful completion of Graduate Certificate of Nursing, graduates will be able to: Apply specialised knowledge, skills and technical competencies across a variety of health contexts, including tropical, rural, remote and Indigenous settings Effectively communicate using high-level written and oral language skills Reflect on practice to ensure quality and promote an environment of excellence in healthcare Analyse, synthesise and evaluate a range of data and evidence to provide solutions to complex nursing problems.

Eligibility	Students may apply for advanced standing for previous tertiary study in accordance with the Credit and Articulation policy and associated procedures
Maximum allowed	6 credit points except where a student transfers from one ʯ��Ƶ award to another, then advanced standing may be granted for more than two-thirds of the new award, where there is subject equivalence between the awards
Currency	Advanced standing will be granted only for subjects completed in the 10 years prior to the commencement of this course
Expiry	Advanced standing gained for any subject shall be cancelled 13 years after the date of the examination upon which the advanced standing is based if, by then, the student has not completed this course.-
