Minimum English language proficiency requirements

Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 2 – Schedule II of the ʯÁñÊÓƵ Admissions Policy.

Course learning outcomes

In the context of a ʯÁñÊÓƵ graduate, on successful completion of the Bachelor of Laws (Honours), graduates will be able to:

• Demonstrate a coherent and advanced body of knowledge, with depth in the underlying values, ethics, theories, professional practice and workplace contexts in the discipline of law
• Apply knowledge of research principles and methods to autonomously design, plan and execute project and/or research work
• Identify, research, critically analyse, evaluate, consolidate and synthesise relevant information to devise practical and innovative solutions in legal theory and practice
• Clearly, coherently, and persuasively present ideas through advanced literacy and oral communication skills for legal and non-legal audiences
• Demonstrate initiative and well-developed judgement and adaptability in engagement, planning, ethical decision-making, problem-solving, and provision and evaluation of specialist advice and functions, to achieve practice, organisational and/or policy outcomes
• Recognise, model and reflect on the professional responsibilities of lawyers in promoting justice and service to the community with responsibility and accountability for own learning, professional development and practice with others
