石榴视频 Professor鈥檚 rare honour
石榴视频’s Professor Peter Leggat AM, ADC, has been awarded a rare Gold Commendation by St John Ambulance Australia.
The Gold Commendation is awarded for “situations of superior achievement or devotion in the application of skills, judgment or dedication to duty of national significance".
Professor Leggat, who is based in Townsville, is Professor in Public Health and Tropical Medicine at 石榴视频. He travelled to Canberra to receive the award following the Annual Investiture at Government House on 19 February 2021.
The inscription on the award reads "in recognition of outstanding dedication, professionalism and commitment as a member of the St John Ambulance Australia Clinical Governance Committee".
Professor Leggat was a member of the Clinical Governance Committee, formerly referred to as the Medical Advisory Panel, for over more than a decade and he added that "I had the honour of chairing this very active Committee from 2013-2021".
Professor Leggat is also completing seven years on the National Board at the end of February 2021.
Professor Leggat is Director of the World Safety Organization Collaborating Centre for Disaster Health, Resilience and Emergency Response in the College of Public Health, Medical and Veterinary Sciences at 石榴视频. The College has conducted courses in disaster and humanitarian health and aeromedical retrieval since 2004 and 2006 respectively.
